College Mascots

Best college/university mascot you've seen?

UCSC banana slugs

Good one lol

The New College of Florida has[/url”>https://www.ncf.edu/mathematics-aoc]has the empty set for a mascot.

The national mascot winner repeatedly has been Aubie the Tiger from Auburn University. Another recent winner and runner-up is Goldy the Gopher from University of Minnesota. They’re both adorable.

Tigers are pretty common mascots. From Auburn, one does not even have to leave the sports conference to find two other tiger mascots (one of which is even in the same division within the conference).

Auburn’s rival Alabama does have a more unusual mascot, if one looks to living organisms with that name. <a href=“Crimson Tide - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimson_Tide</a></p>

Yeah. Tigers, bears, birds, are all very common. UL Lafayette Cayenne is a unique one.

If you want to go into R-rated mascots, there is that of Rhode Island School of Design.

The griffin

The UCSD Triton are pretty awesome. I mean who would you fear more, a horse or Greek god?

UVa Cavaliers! Pretty unique I think

Aubie the Tiger at Auburn hands down - check out iOS videos - he is one if the best mascots I’ve ever seen.

Buzz at GT is great too !

Big Al!

<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube;

University of Akron has Zippy the Roo, one of the only female mascots I’ve ever heard of.

<a href=“Aubie 2013-2014 Highlights - YouTube”>Aubie 2013-2014 Highlights - YouTube;

I like Wichita State University’s - it’s a Shocker. That, by the way, is a long bundle of sorts of wheat. Their motto? “We will, we will, SHOCK you!!!”

UPenn has a good one, too.

The University of Arizona has two mascots: male and female wildcats.

@stugace not sure if that was directed to my comment. Lots of schools have a male and a female, but Zippy is it. No male 'Roo

@kandcsmom, no it wasn’t directed towards your comment.

I believe UA was the first college to introduce a male and female mascot.
