College matches for me? I'm so lost!

<p>Please suggest some colleges that could be right for me, some facts:</p>

<ul>
<li>Cost: not higher than $25,000</li>
<li>Not any spesific states, just not too far north</li>
<li>I'll be an international student</li>
<li>Preferably not over 8000 students</li>
<li>Good academics and not too big of a party school, but there should be some fun!</li>
<li>I haven't taken the SAT's yet, and I don't know if I have to since I'll be taking freshman year in my country, but my freshman year diploma will be from the University of North Dakota (complicated ;) )..</li>
<li>Haven't decided on a major yet, but the school should be a liberal arts college.</li>
<li>Doesn't matter if it's public or private..</li>

<p>Since you don’t want to be too far north, that excludes UMinn.</p>

<p>Since your budget is so limited - your choices will be limited (I’m guessing that $25k has to pay for tuition, room, board, books, travel???)</p>

<p>When you know your SAT scores, there may be some schools that will give you scholarships that will help.</p>

<p>many of the smaller schools are more expensive. :frowning: You may have to give up your size parameter.</p>

<p>I live in Norway, and the state give us about $20,000+ in scholarship and loan if we want to study in the US. They also pay for 2 plane tickets per semester. So money isn’t an issue :)</p>

<p>My major will be either criminal justice, criminology, business, or real estate… I think!</p>

<p>Then why did you say it can’t cost more than $25,000? Most schools in the US will be $50,000+ for you.</p>

<p>Well, no it won’t. I’ve already found some school that I like and can afford… I just wanted some more suggestions. I do have the money to go to colleges that cost over $25,000, but I’d prefere a cheaper alternative :)</p>

<p>I’m confused, you said your “freshman year diploma will be from the University of North Dakota”. Does that mean you will be applying to a college as a transfer student? </p>

<p>Also, you said that you found a school that you liked. What school was it? What did you like about it? It will help to get you some answers for a very broad question.</p>

<p>I know, the diploma thing is very confusing… I think I still will be applying as an international student - but I’m not 100% sure. I’m going to mail the school I’m attending and ask sometime soon.</p>

<p>I really like Eastern Connecticut State University because of the size, the beautiful campus, small classes and just generally the information I got from the interviews with the current students. I really liked UNC Chapel Hill too, but it’s a little too big for me, I think.</p>

<p>I basically want to attend a college with good academics, a nice campus with green areas and students who are happy to be learning and that love their school :p</p>

<p>I’m going to say that, if cost > other things you want (i.e. LAC), here’s my list:</p>

<p>UC Boulder (more expensive than you want, but merit aid could reduce)
Utah (ehhh…)
Texas A&M (cheapest decent Texas school I could find, and well-known to boot, but is 40k)
Florida State (LARGE)</p>

<p>Ones I’ve found by searching a bit (cause you’re inquiry aroused my curiosity):
Union College, KY
Greensboro College, NC
Azusa Pacific (a bit pricy, but better-known for its size and undergrad strength, at least on the west coast)
Fresno Pacific</p>
