College Matching Tools?

We’ve been helping our son do some online college research and he has brought to our attention quite a few college matching tools.

One site he and his friends have been checking in on is https://www.houredu.com which has student reviews of online colleges and trade schools but they also boast a “college matching tool”

We decided to give it a shot and it “matched” our son with a couple of options that seemed like they could be a good fit. However, after trying many other tools, it seems like we’re getting the same results everywhere.

Can anyone recommend a matching tool that they have had a good experience with and or shed some light on the situation?

There are so many online college options available and it’s a bit daunting. It’d be nice to have a program customize suggestions for your individual needs but maybe AI isn’t quite there yet.

For now, it’s just back to good old research!

I would rely on research…there aren’t any accurate ‘matching’ sites that I know of…assuming you are talking about ones that estimate probability of acceptance and/or categorize schools by reach/target/safety.

Use Naviance, CollegeBoard, and/or Princeton Review to search for schools based on your criteria (major, location, setting, size, etc).

Then come back here with your categorized list and you are sure to get lots of feedback, probably some of it will even be good ?
