How did you lose it?

^^^^

@philosoup…well if it wasn’t obvious from what he wrote…it was only the fourth word on his reply…he specifically said it was “stolen”…wow

New macbooks will most likely be coming out this summer, if you can wait.

Lol, I guess my post was TL;DR

It was stolen

Can’t wait too long, tons of stuff I need it for within the next week

Which is the better model right now: MB Pro 13"/MB Air 13"

^ Non-Apple product, with the same specs for half the price. ;)

About when in the summer would the new macbooks be out? Eyeing a macbook pro but I wanted to take advantage of the back to school offer which will probably happen in the summer as well, with the $100 itunes card or whatever they were giving. Do they only offer those if you buy the older models? ):

I would go with an MB pro with i5 processor, apple products are great, they last a long time if you handle with care, the ease of use is amazing…and no a non apple product with same specs for half of the price is not worth it…

I would like an air, due to the weight advantage, but for many of my chemistry and biology courses we use a lot of CDs that are required for the course, which I wouldnt be able to use on an AIR…

Most likely the new macbooks will probably come out right after the back to school special which they have done the last two years. so maybe late sept…

but it is also possible they could come out this summer, with the launch of their new OS Mountain Lion…

Apple makes new reditions to most of its products each year…as they do with the iPhone, iPad, macbooks…etc

^ why wouldn’t non apple computers with the same specs be worth it? I use both windows and mac operating systems and I find both are perfectly capable of performing what I need and have pros and cons for both. It’s definiteley personal preference.

@darksaber91 your programming on a Mac? LOLS

Jk i heard you can dual boot. so its convenient.

Considering the Macbook Air 13 inch too, but i dunno the 11 in seems tempting its just so small and convenient. Argh that decision has been holding me back for months on what Mac to buy.

For everyone who is thinking of getting a MacBook, I recommend that you wait it out until the refresh. The ivy bridge chipset that apple is going put in the new models are going allow better performance.

Hopefully they upgrade the Standard screen resolutions as well, considering MacBooks don’t have that great of a resolution sans the HR screens that you have to pay extra for. There are rumors of a retina display MacBooks this summer but those are definitely “believe it when I see it” type of deals.

@berkeleyappeal

Lol, yes I program on a mac, along with all the guys at my last internship. Our office was pretty amazing. 1 iMac, 6 Apple Cinema Screens, 8 MBP, and an air. Nerd heaven. And who needs bootcamp, Xcode/eclipse ftw!

The guys I work with now only know PC, but then again, we’re excel monkeys so that’s expected :P

@darksaber haha

I’m getting a mac soon, was worried bout programming. But as long as eclipse works i’m good to go.

Oh god Excel… I have to read this book whenever I’m preparing worksheets for (formulas) my firm. It gets annoying but i’m getting use to it :D

do you guys think the 13in is a better option? i have been having a dilemma over which i should buy 13 or 11. Just like the OP

Plus (darksaber91)Get a macbook air so we can be MBA buddies… get it :P

im pretty sure the current macbook air 13" has a better screen resolution if that makes a difference to you. I think i’m going for the macbook air 13" or an ipad, but now im gonna try and hold out for the new releases.

I was planning on getting a MacBook Pro 13" once they update it this year. I only want a MacBook, because they hold a good battery compared to Windows and they look better than most Windows laptops. Well, that’s just my opinion on looks, though.

who needs xcode/eclipse… Emacs and g++ ftw!
