College Neccessities...

<p>Bed, Bath and Beyond sells these plastic drawers that fit under the bed. Very handy if your closet/dresser space is limited, which it probably will be. </p>

<p>Some dorms have such terrible electricity that an iron -- or in some cases even a hair dryer -- will blow the fuses. You can get used to wrinkled clothing and wet hair.</p>

<p>Trash cans and shower curtains are usually supplied by the college, but check your school's list of what to bring. Microwaves may be forbidden.</p>

<p>If you wear eyeglasses, bring a copy of your eyeglass prescription in case you break your glasses and need to buy a new pair. You won't want to wait for your parents to mail you the prescription.</p>

<p>Marian: most optometrists have FAX machines. You can also get a prescription by email. Or over the phone. It's just four numbers, and it's not like a drug prescription--any optometrist can fill it.</p>
