<p>Are the college niche scattergrams accurate</p>
<p>Don’t rely on scattergrams…it might give you a wrong idea of whether you may get in or not.</p>
<p>@jadepari - I don’t these scattergrams are very useful because it consists of hundreds of data points on top of each other, and you can’t view the data behind it.</p>
<p>The best scattergrams are the ones for your school, if you can get them. I found the Parchment scattergrams useful last year when my daughter was applying to colleges - although they show much higher acceptance rates than the entire applicant pool, they were similar to the Naviance scattergrams for her school. Parchment has its share of suspect data, but as you can view the profiles behind each point, you can quickly determine which profiles are junk,</p>
<p>We used them to determine approximate odds for students with her academic qualifications. Unfortunately Parchment has been dumbed down and their scattergrams are now of little use.</p>
