college not receiving ed agreement until later hurts admissions chances?

colleges say they cant review your application until they’ve received all the necessary materials, including the ed agreement assuming you’re applying ed. if there was a logistical problem and the college didnt receive the ed agreement until later (i wont go into how this happened but its totally out of my control) wouldnt that hurt my chances getting in ed? if they cant review my app until they have all the necessary files, that means theyre setting it aside and reviewing other kid’s ed apps, and presumably accepting some people. and if thats the case, ed admission slots that couldve gone to me are being taken by other people because they cant review my application yet. and they only have a limited number of ed admission slots. wouldnt this hurt my chances?

If the problem in getting the ED agreement sent to the college is with your high school, you need to take the issue up with them. No agreement, no review by the college.

the agreement’s just been sent; my question wasnt who i should take it up with, my question is whether or not sending the agreement late affects my admissions decision because theyre reviewing my application later.

I’m wondering the same thing! Hopefully not…

You will be fine. I do not think there is too much difference when your application is looked at in comparison to the whole pool. As with anything someone will be the first looked at and someone will be the last looked at. With a whole lot of kids in the middle.

It is not unusual for colleges to not look at application packages until they are complete. You would be surprised how many kids just decide for whatever reason to no longer pursue a particular college.

Good luck.
