College of Arts and Sciences Liberal Arts Scholarship

Does anyone know anything about this scholarship? It is a $3,000 per year merit scholarship specifically for OOS students who are entering as Undecided. My son was admitted as a History major but is considering switching to undecided (because he really is undecided not because of this scholarship). I asked the admissions counselor if he could still be considered for this scholarship and she said he probably could but that it is extremely competitive. Does anyone know what the requirements are for this? He was awarded the $17,000 Presidential scholarship and it would be great if he could get this on top of it. I wonder if it is just for the top, top applicants however.

Daughter is undecided as an OOS, she got 18K presidential and was awarded the College of Arts and Sciences Liberal Arts Scholarship 3k scholarship. Don’t know the stats to get awarded this scholarship (it probably vaires some every year depending upon students who applied) but UVM web site says in part “Designated for new admitted first-year out-of-state residents who are offered admission to the College of Art and Sciences, are exploring their major and apply as an undecided student, and who have demonstrated the highest academic achievement in high school.” Give it a shot you’ve got nothing to lose.

Thanks I reached out to them after he officially changed his major to Undeclared and I was told that he would be considered. Not sure if his stats are high enough considering he is at the 17K Presidential Scholarship level not 18K, but we will see.
