College of Biological Sciences

I have been accepted into CBS and I was just wondering who else has been? What are your impressions? Do you plan on attending?

I will probably make my decision when I get a decision back from Northwestern (WCAS).

Maybe I'll see some of you on campus.

I was accepted to CBS. My probable major is going to be Biochemistry. I have a really good feeling about it since I've heard that the advisers are really great. Also it's nice to be in one of (or maybe) the smallest colleges at the U. I'm almost positive that I will be attending....but I'm really really hoping for a significant scholarship to make my decision easier.

if you made it into northwestern, i'd go that route. cbs is a great school but it can be really hard to meet people and enjoy the school with the brainy professors and impersonal students. cla has many of the same biology programs and much more enjoyable being that i have friends from both.

nah honestly, i think i have the stats to get into NU, and I'm applying, but I would probably choose the U CBS anyway. no need to blow 50K for undergrad really.

That's how I felt, t-rex. I have the stats for a mid/top-tier school, but going to the U instead (even though I'm OOS) will save me way upwards of 100K, even if I don't get any scholarships. CBS is a great program, from everything I've read/heard, and I'm excited to go.

In some fields your undergrad institution matters a great deal (finance, for example), but in science you'll be in great shape at the U and a large portion of students seek further education anyway. CBS is a great option, especially if you are leaning towards the U.

I got accepted to CBS yesterday! :D :D happy dance
I'm planning on majoring in biochemistry.
It would be awesome to see some of you guys on campus.
