College of Charleston vs USC Columbia

Pros and cons of both
Also which one is better academic wise, I plan on majoring in computer science; which school has the best oppurtunities, like internships etc

USC would be the best option for computer science I believe. Not only because of its size, but other factors such as prestige and financial status gives the school more things to offer.

I attend C of C now and love it, thanks though!

I have to disagree with @HandyManny . My son has visited the CS program at CofC on several occasions. They have a dynamic new Dean who is cultivating community relationships with the growing tech communities in the Charleston area. Their students have competed and faired well in quite a few CS competitions. They participate in another program called the ICAT program in which a humanities student , business student and CS student work collaboratively with a mentor/ entrepreneur from the community to develop a program that they compete for funds to start up their program and attend educational opportunities in Estonia. They have several CS majors including BS in Computer Science, BA in Computer Science, BS in Data Science and BS in Computing in the Arts. They offer a 4+1 program in conjunction with The Citadel which would allow you to complete your Masters Degree in 5 years. I encourage you to look at the program closely. It’s more impressive than some may think .

Plus it’s a much smaller school than USC so students get to have a more intimate relationship with professors!

Sorry , didn’t realize that someone had reopened an old thread when I responded .
