college of communications

I'm feeling out the idea of transferring to Rowan from a community college. I have been considering Northwestern, but I know that it's quite a reach as a transfer student who was simply average in high school. And I don't have a lot of money so I'm depending on either a state school or a blind-need admission policy. I have a 3.8 GPA in CC. SATs are 2110, and I never took the ACT. Currently a journalism major, I did an internship with a feminist magazine last summer, and I was the editor of the CC newspaper for one semester.

Considering their stats, I think I have good chances.

However, I wish I knew a little more about their college of communications? I know it's one of their more competitive colleges, but I'd like a little insight for how it measures up to say... U of T at Austin?

I don’t know about UT-Austin, but I was briefly a journalism minor during my time at Rowan. Dr. Hausmann was AMAZING. I was a Radio/TV/Film major - not overly competitive, but a pretty good program with some outstanding teachers.

I’d say with a 3.8, you’d be a welcome admission to the college.
