@Trusting - Congratulations to your daughter! That is fantastic news…
I hope her next 4 years are joy-filled, and are as career confirming as they have been for my daughter. As my D graduates, I’ll kind of miss the College of Design campus, but look forward to the College of Engineering as my son starts the CompSci program this Fall.
My daughter will be entering her senior year this fall and applying to NCSU COD. It is her #1 choice, those who have been accepted would you be willing to share what your SAT/ACT scores were? She is in all honors classes and taking AP classes next year, weighted GPA of 4.3. Luckily we live locally and she has taken several workshops at the design school and also will be going to the week long summer camp. Living locally I know you need a competitive sat/act which here is where she lacks. She scored above average however, needs to be higher for state. TIA
@sjms71: Your D is super smart for taking advantage of the workshops & summer camp. Those are great opportunities to build a strong design-based portfolio. She will love camp!
Here are my D’s stats: 32 ACT; weighted 5+; all honors & had 5’s on some APs. Did mission trips & local volunteer work; outside art classes & activities; sports; clubs & some leadership.
Do practice tests at home to help increase the scores.
Best of luck to you both on this process! It is quite an honor to be part of CoD. My D turned down some great scholarships at other schools for it. Keep us posted!
Thank you, I will keep you posted.
