Hey everyone so I plan on majoring in computer science and for this major, you can either apply to the College of Engineering, or the College of Arts & Sciences. I was wondering if that the only difference really is the types of courses you take.

Also, Which college would be easier to get into??? Thanks

The only difference is the common courses required by each major. In CAS you’ll have to take a foreign language and meet the history breadth and depth requirements, for example, while in Engineering you’ll have to take chem, physics, ENGRIs, etc.

Keep in mind that Engineering still has a liberal studies requirement (18 credits) and that CAS still requires some math and science so it’s up to you. If you have AP/transfer credit that can get rid of some of the core requirements you should probably pick the one that lets you take the least number of non-CS classes.

well I don’t really want to take too many math classes, but i don’t want many history classes either. I can’t stand history. So i would lean more towards engineering, but I want to take foreign language too so I’m unsure.
