College of Engineering Question

For CoE at Cal, does anyone have data for acceptance rates for each major? I know UCLA has one, but is there a similar one for Berkeley?
I want to see the differences in admission rate for each major.
I also wanted to know this so I can understand how i got in. Only like 2 people in my class got in for CoE, which triggered a lot of people when they found out I got in. There were a lot of people with higher stats, ranks, better EC’s, and probably better essays than me, but somehow, I got in and they didn’t.

There does not seem to be any publicly available information about admission selectivity of different CoE majors.

However, based on https://engineering.berkeley.edu/admissions/undergrad-admissions/change-college that describes changing into the CoE for UCB students not in the CoE, it is likely that the most selective majors are EECS (and joint majors with EECS), and bioengineering (and joint major with bioengineering). CoE undeclared should be assumed to be as selective as the most selective major.

You mention materials science and engineering; if the other students who did not get admitted applied for EECS or bioengineering, that is a likely explanation.

For current students and staff, most of these answers can be ascertained by going into Cal Answers, which is an internal analytics site. You’ll have to request access.

I don’t have the exact numbers bot CoE rates are probably somewhere just under 10% overall and EECS rates are definitely lower than that.

Thanks for the info
I was just curious since UCLA publishes their data

The numbers are available, you just gotta compile them yourself.
