I just applied ED to Cornell's College of Engineering and need to fill the subject test requirements for that college. I know that I need a math and science, I already took math II last year and got a 750, but tomorrow I have to take the science subject test... I heard bio was the easiest of the science ones so I've been studying, but I have a feeling I won't do super well... My SAT I was decent (730 CR and 800 M) and grades/extra curriculars are good too, so does anyone know how much the science subject test comes into play with admission? Any help would be awesome!

I’m sure it’s not a HUGE factor, but a collective portfolio of poor scores or one REALLY bad score could be a dent in your chances. Er… bio was not the easiest in my opinion, and I’m a huge bio geek. I took Honors Bio and I’m currently taking AP bio at a very competitive school and I got As in both but only a 700 on the bio SAT II. They ask a lot of strange questions. Chem is good, but only if you’re pretty mathematical (you probably are since you’re applying for CoE) and study your balls off.

My AP Chem teacher (I’m in AP Chem this year) told me to take Bio over Chem b/c there were a lot of topics that we haven’t covered that are on the subject test… A number of people told me to take the Bio, so I figured that would be my best choice. I’m studying, but we will see… Do you know what the approximate acceptable score range would be for Cornell CoE?
