<p>How competitive is the College of Engineering? My GPA and SAT scores are slightly above the average for the entire school, but will my GPA and SAT scores need to be higher for the College of Engineering?</p>
<p>There are no special admissions criteria for COE. You are admitted directly into COE as a freshman and your application is subject to the same review as any other prospective student. As a freshman you are pooled into COE with everyone else. You must then apply for acceptance into your program of choice (ME, BME etc) and that process IS competitive, more for some programs than others. You’d have to ask the college about your specific program’s competitiveness. I know that BME accepts only 20 or 30 per semester, while they have 3x that number applying. This is the most competitive program by far. Not sure about the others. You are not booted out of COE if you fail acceptance into the program; you try again the following semester.</p>
