<p>As a CMU design alum (and interviewer) your GPA does matter; however, your portfolio also matters. You should be able to find on the CMU website a listing of last year's matriculants and their GPA and SAT scores by College. The average for the College of Fine Arts is lower than say, for instance, CIT (engineering).</p>
