I am planning on applying to BU’s College of Engineering for Biomedical. If I check the box on my CommonApp saying that I would like to be considered for CGS, am I still considered for the College of Engineering? If I am accepted there, that’s where I will be admitted, correct? I will not have to go to CGS solely because I said I would like to be considered? CGS only comes into play if I am rejected from the College of Engineering but am admitted to CGS, correct? I couldn’t find a definitive answer on their website- thanks!

Somebody just asked the same question. Sounds like it must be a little confusing.
I am pretty sure that if you check that box, they would consider you for engineering first, and if you don’t get in, then consider you for CGS. But instead of taking my word for it, you could always call admissions to be sure that checking or not checking the box has no bearing on the admission to Engineering decision. I am just an alum, not a BU admissions expert. (I started in Engineering and transferred after my freshman year to CAS, or CLA as it was called then.)
