College of Human Ecology

Does anyone have admission statistics for this school? I can't seem to find anything online.

Also, I've heard that the Human Biology, Health and Society major is very strong for pre-med. How do the majors in CAS and ALF (regarding pre-med related science) compare?

like, ALF? I will assume you mean CALS, though I’m not sure where you took a wrong turn there.

HBHS is considered fine for pre-med. the main premed major in CALS and CAS is biological sciences, so far as I know. I know that biology and society also has some pre-med students. I guess they are all fine so long as you do well with your pre-med courses. I will say that I am not a pre-med student here, I have just a regular biological sciences major who’s picked these things up, so someone with direct experience might have more to contribute.

I don’t know about admissions stats to HumEc, sorry.

Oh, wow. I totally meant CALS lol.

I just liked the description of Human Biology, Health and Society major because it’s not 100% science related and has to do with societal impacts as well.

I hear that CALS is “better” for med school but the the students are very competitive. Can anyone compare and contrast the Adv/DisAdv of the Human Biology, Health, Society major at Human Ecology and Life Science majors at CALS?

Nothing is “better” for med school. An English major or an engineering major could very well be “better” for med school – it depends on you and your interests.
