Just wondering if anyone got accepted into Nursing at UP or other campuses. I've been waiting for quite some time now so I'm getting kind of anxious.

I feel ya… i haven’t gotten accepted either and have been waiting… I even went to check my application status… and it said that i was missing parts of the application ( the transcript)… So i had my school’s guidance office call and see why it would be missing if i had definitley sent it in… and the school said that they indeed DID have the transcript, but the reason it is taking so long is because the school of nursing takes the longest to choose who is going to be admitted. So no worries :D

My daughter applied to Penn State nursing last year and didn’t find out she was accepted until late January. Don’t stress about it.

Thanks everyone!! I guess I’m worried cause my SATs aren’t that great. I have a 1700/2400 but my gpa is good, 3.91 weighted. Some of my friends got accepted already but they are going for engineering. I’m hoping it’s all okay!!

Your stats sound very similar to my daughter. She had a 26 ACT and about the same gpa as yours. Penn State released all the nursing acceptances around the same time in January last year. My daughter really likes the nursing program so far at Penn State – it is a pretty small group of students.

Great!! That makes me feel better. One of my counselors told me that you have to have a 4.0 to get in, which I have this year but had a 3.9 junior year. I got a 25 on ACT so that’s close. I’m glad you’re daughter likes it!! I’ve heard a lot of people like the program. It’s my first choice, I’ve already been accepted to RMU, IUP, and Saint Francis. If Penn State doesn’t work out, I’ll probably be going to RMU.

hi
i applied to penn state early october. Im not really expecting to get in because my stats are boarderline for the school, let alone the nursing program; however i do no a girl at my school who had score a bit lower then mine and was denied accetance for nursing only 3 weeks after she applied…
i wasnt sure if they werent answering nursing majors until last minute

Penn State must screen their applicants for a quick review and send rejection letters to those not meeting a certain threshold. So if you havent heard back yet, that must be a sign that you are at least being seriously considered. My daughter received her acceptance in late January last year.

I applied to PSU’s nursing program in November and have not heard anything yet, although I’ve been told that admissions received all of my application components. I will look for more information in January but I thought that rolling would give me an earlier decision! :(
