College of the Holy Cross Social Scene?

So I'm a rising senior and looking at holy cross. Its alumni are fantastic, its academics akin to those of the ives, but I am wondering what the social scene is like there. When I visited my tour guide made a joke that saturday/friday nights the librarians need to kick HC students out to force them to go be social. Are HC students really that boring?! I worked my ass off in high school and told myself that college is where I can get a little crazy and let loose a bit. Has HC really become incredibly strict on partying? Of course you can have fun without alcohol and parties but I would be pretty bummed out if the nightlife at HC consisted of quietly drinking a beer in your dorm with two other people. Holy Cross seems so perfect in every other category, but the bad reviews I am hearing about partying here on CC and on other college review sites have me questioning if Holy Cross is really the best place for me. Honestly, I cannot go to a college for academics alone or partying alone or job placement alone. What I consider paramount is a well rounded college experience, one that I can be happy and proud to look back on.

Seems like @par72 , who seems to mention Holy Cross in every post, should be able to tell you something.

OP, why don’t you take this over to the par7…er, Holy Cross forum. You’ll find more help there.

I would not worry about the lack of partying at Holy Cross which like most colleges has a long, and at times sordid, reputation as this newspaper article demonstrates: http://www.telegram.com/article/20120829/NEWS/108299953&Template=printart</a>

HC offers a great combination of academics and social life. As a top Jesuit school the campus has no greek life butoffers a broad spectrum of social activities some focused on its strong athletic tradition of football tailgates, which will only get better as Holy Cross schedules football games in the near future against Syracuse, UConn, and Boston College. HC also has plans to build a significant Performing Arts Center which will enhance its abililty to attract top-notch speakers, theater productions etc.
