College of the Holy Cross vs Bentley University vs Fordham University

Hi I am currently deciding where to go for University.

I just wanted to ask for some insight on which of the three schools would be best in terms of academics, athletics, prestige, campus dining, facilities as well as dorm life. The three schools being College of the Holy Cross vs Bentley University vs Fordham University.

Holy Cross would be the clear overall leader although all three are fine colleges

I think it really depends on what you want to do. If you are into finance and/or have a strong passion for business, Bentley offers some great opportunities and very impressive facilities. Fordham is a strong academic school as well as is Holy Cross. I think both these 2 share more in common than Bentley.

Holy Cross and Fordham are both run by the Jesuits and were both founded in the mid 1800s so they do have a lot in common.

thanks so much for some feedback… leaning towards holy cross now… 9 days to decide…

If you have a strong passion for business like someone mentioned earlier, Bentley may be the right choice for you. The campus has many majors and minors across the whole business spectrum to choose from, ranging from accounting to information systems audit & control to management, finance, marketing, and information design and corporate communication. Bentley also offer majors or minors in liberal studies, such as english , history, philosophy, or sociology. If you graduate with a particular degree, you will also have background knowledge in almost every business field because bentley have general business requirements as well.

The campus has high-tech facilities such as the trading room, the accounting lab, the media & culture lab, the center for languages and international collaboration, and the center for marketing technology. The whole campus is wireless. The school offers a laptop program, where as freshman you will receive a HP laptop. The laptop has all of the programs you would need for class. In your junior year, you can trade your laptop in for a brand new one that you can keep. The campus is continously updated in regards to its facilities and technology.

Bentley is a Division 2 school when it comes to sports, with the exception of hockey which is D1. If you are not interested in playing a varisty sport, the school also offers intermual sports, which in a large number of the student population participate in.

Bentley has many dining places on campus aside from the main dining hall located in the student center. There is two eateries on upper campus, and 2 more on lower campus.

There are 3 freshmen dorms on campus, Trees, Slade, and Miller. The rooms consist of singles, double, triples, and quads. After orientation in june, you will be able to fill out your paperwork for the housing selection. If you happen to meet to someone you like to room with also, you may request that person.

There are many activities to particpate on campus. The campus have over 100+ student organizations and clubs. There are school sponsored events such as freshmen fun day and BBQs as well as events put on by individual organizations. Bentley is 20 minutes away from Harvard SQ. There is a shuttle that goes to Havrard Sq. every hour during the weekdays and every half hour during the weekends. From Harvard Sq, you can take the T or bus to everywhere else in Boston.

I hope this answers your questions. I would suggest looking at [Bentley University, Waltham, Greater Boston, Massachusetts](http://www.bentley.edu) and visiting Holy Cross and Fordham’s websites for more information to help you make your decision.

Holy Cross will serve you better overall.

I can’t speak for business program at Holy Cross, but I can tell you that Bentley’s program is fantasic. Bentley is a smaller school with smaller, more intimate classes. If you check out their facilities, especially the trading room and acelab and gym facilities, I think you will be much more impressed with Bentley over that of Holy Cross. Moreover, absent scholarships, Holy Cross is about $4,000 per year more expensive for tuition.

Bentley with 4235 students is actually larger than Holy Cross which has just 2933 students. Princeton Review’s Academic rating for Bentley is 82 and Holy Cross is rated a 98.
