I honestly think you have a very strong chance, as long as you bring your SAT score up to at least 1900.
Many people at my school go to WM and not many seemed as passionate as you seem to be. (Or at least I assume you really want to go because it feels that way in your writing) I think your ECs are awesome too.

I agree with Joyce. You sound like an interesting, unique student that admissions officers would push for. However, your SAT score is a lot lower than their average and that will make you a lot less competitive than other applicants. Maybe consider taking the ACT as well? :)

Funny thing! I just took the ACT last weekend and I’m awaiting the scores.
Either way, I will still do my best to get a 1900+ on the SAT. Thanks for the positive and also constructive comments!

Your EC’s really, really stand out. GPA is right on track, I’m a little concerned about lack of AP, IB or dual enrollment though. Have you taken rigorous HS classes? And, like already mentioned, a better SAT score will make you a lot more competitive. At this point, I’d consider it a match school. With a higher SAT score I’d say it goes to a high match. Best of luck!

I have taken very rigorous classes. I forgot to mention that I have never taken a normal class until Junior year Calculus. I had all honors classes up to that. This was not really my choosing anyway (guidance messed something up). I am glad I took it though because I got a great teacher and learned a lot.

Thanks for your feedback! I can’t wait to get that SAT up and apply

I think you will definitely get in. I live in VA too, and your application seems to be at least as strong if not stronger than people I know who have been accepted.

@1325948 , I am not sure yet. I will be visiting the college this saturday when I do my interview. If I discover that this is the college I know I want to go to, I will apply early. What are your thoughts?

you should apply early if you are sure its your top choice im still on the fence if i want to apply ED or not , however if you are OOS even though its public its on the expensive side (about 52,000 a year)
