College of Wooster Class of 2016!!!

@early_college : I have not :/

We haven’t heard anything from FA yet either. I did call yesterday to ask about that so we could plan (or not plan) to attend admitted students weekend. I was told that the Admissions office is still making some decisions on competitive scholarships and once that’s done (hopefully within the week) they’ll package and send out a FA letter for D. I’m assuming that applies to everyone.

^ Oh no, I just realized that FA = Financial Aid. Well, in my case they sent the FA package (an official letter, attached to the email) along with the acceptance letter. Again I’m an international, so it might not be counted

Thanks CalmlyiChaotic!

Congrats to everyone who got accepted! I applied by the deadline but my application wasn’t completed until quite late because they kept on asking me for documents… I hope i’ll get a decision soon :)

Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using CC

Nothing in today’s mail!

Scholarship letters are on the way. D got a College Scholar Award in the mail today!

Ah, hopefully we’ll get some kind of notification Monday. We live on a campus and the school’s on Spring Break this week, so we don’t get mail until the P.O. reopens on Monday. :-(

I talked to Wooster and they said FA packages won’t be coming until LATE March. A FA lady even mentioned APRIL!

Still nothing in Michigan

STILL nothing, and their phone is on permanent voicemail

They are sending it this week. I talked again today. They tell me something different every time!

Re: FA…We haven’t received anything here in CT, but to be honest, I’m getting a little worried about Wooster. People are receiving different messages or they can’t get through. We’ve had our own “issues” as well with Wooster. Our D is deciding between Wooster and Allegheny and I was always pro Wooster. I’m not so sure anymore. Allegheny seems to be far more organized and efficient!

We are in the same boat. However, I did manage to get through to the admissions office yesterday by phone. I even spoke to the director of admissions. She stated that the website showed a “mail date” of March 15, but a notification date of April 1st. She did not explain the discrepancy. It sounds like my son’s app has been “through committee” but they are taking their sweet time to actually put letters in the mail.

I am not optimistic. It’s clear there is a correlation between mail date and acceptance, becauseany merit scholarship recipients have already heard.

I did bend her ear a bit.

My daughter just got her envelope today–acceptance and 20K per year! So envelopes are still coming. And we are only one state away…

Congrats! So nice to hear!

Great to hear usernamelm

Hi everyone!

Not sure if this is helpful or not (not sure when everyone applied) but, in case it might be thought I’d share.

I applied early action and heard back before Christmas with a scholarship of 18,500. I also sent in an essay for the college scholar competition scholarship. I received my letter just last week. I am one of the 50 and thrilled! Didn’t think I’d be able to attend but with the new scholarship (24,000 a year- 2/3 of tuition!) I can! I just got my deposit in today and was informed that email info, etc is being sent out next week or so. Not sure about fa as I won’t be receiving any since my parents didn’t want to fill it out. (simply not worth it for us)

I’ve found them to be very organized and timely! (both letters have been early) That being said, I am in Ohio so the mail gets here quickly.

Hope everyone else gets news (good news!) soon.

Oh… And a question… Does anyone know if Wooster will bargain? (so to speak) I came home today from dropping off my deposit (so ironic) to recieve a letter from Antioch saying that I am one of the 75. For those of you who haven’t heard what’s happening with Antioch, this means full tuition. I am shocked and excited, however Wooster remains my first choice… That being said, my parents are thinking perhaps I should reconsider. A 350.00 deposit is nothing if we won’t pay tuition. Hoping that Wooster would maybe give me more as I have my heart set on going there! Wasn’t sure if anyone here had ever heard anything.

Wow it’s really great to hear the good news from people. And congrats usernamelm!
I hope good news are still coming our way! So far, I am most likely will attend Wooster…

Got Wooster’s FA package and IT IS LITERALLY TERRIBLE! One of my worse packages yet. No where near affordable.
