College offer affected due to COVID-19?

Hi, I’m an international student who got admitted to Smith via ED1 last December. In view of the COVID-19 situation happening right now, I am afraid that there would be a delay in the F1 visa application process (very likely I guess) which affects my travelling plan to the US before college starts this fall.
Also there are rumors that the financial aid package can be affected because of the economic depression happening right now due to the pandemic. I wonder how it is going to work in Smith.
I am nervous right now because I already withdrew all my apps and the local schools I can apply to already closed their application (since I’m really committed to attending Smith regardless).
Can somebody help shed a light on how this would go? Also please stay safe everybody.

I suggest you contact the Admissions office to ask them about this. I don’t see anything specifically for incoming international students on the Covid-19 page on Smith’s website. At my son’s school, they say the school typically begins working on the visa paperwork in March and will provide the I-20. The problem might be obtaining a timely appointment with the US Embassy in your jurisdiction. As of today, visa appointments at all embassies were suspended by the US State Department. In any event, I am sure that Smith will want to work with you, and I cannot imagine any financial aid they offered you would be in jeopardy. Smith is a wealthy school.
