<p>I don’t think any of us would be offended by parents wearing their colors at a big game. But move-in day isn’t about the parent. Now if the kid wanted to wear the rival colors, that would be another thing.</p>

<p>People who cling to college rivalries are the ones who need the Xanax.</p>
<p>My son goes to my school’s rival. I have his schools bumper sticker on my car and wear my “XYZ mom” shirt and hat. If I were you, I would encourage your son to embrace his school, rivalry and all. It is part of the college experience. He will be missing out on the college experience if he continues to root for his own school’s rival.</p>
