Help! My son was waitlisted at a college far from home. Since he wasn't going to hear a decision until after May 1, he put down an enrollment deposit at a school close to home. He has since been accepted to the other school, so he currently has deposits at both schools. My question is: can he attend orientation at both schools and then decide which one he wants to attend? They are both coming up one after the other next week, and at this point we have made arrangements to attend both orientation sessions.

It would be disingenuous for him to go to both–he would be meeting with other students who assume that he will be returning for the year, he will be using time and resources to get IDs academic advising, enrolling in classes, meeting with academic advisors, etc.

It is time for him to make a decision before he commits to the orientation.
