"College Partnership"

(I wasn't positive where to post this).

Anyone else get one of these..?

Letter in the mail, "College Partnership."

"You and your student Annie are scheduled to participate in an educational group presentation and interview to help detemine college financial aid, admissions, and/or athletic eligibility. Colleges are now identifying prospective students as early as the freshman year of high school to whom they will offer admissions and financial aid assitance....

...we have identified many colleges that may meet up to 100% of Annie's financial need. Please call ###-#### with your reservation number listed below to confirm and obtain directions to your appointment."

I've never heard of this, so maybe its just me. Is it legitimate? Hm. Ever heard of it? Perhaps I'm just out of the loop. Any help appreciated.

(Sorry if this is posted somewhere else, haven't been around in awhile).

I haven't heard of this one, but it sounds similar to a lot of other "scams" out there.

I got the exact same letter from the so-called College Partnership. And I was stupid enough to attend, waste a whole day, and find out that these scammers are only looking to squeeze thousands of $$ out of my family. DO NOT GO. period.

WHOA, Homebuddy, THANK YOUUU!!! For saving me pain in the ass and money. Yeesh, that sucks.

do not go! it is the biggest scam and i realized that after it was too late :(

Hello CAfe,
Yes I went to the seminar unfortunately with out seeking out boards as this. My suspicion is deepening. I iwll say that the people that ran the CAA seminar where really good sales people. THey seemed experienced. My family did sign up as we were not aware of many of the things they pointed out during the seminar. WHat I am gettting from this blog is that the information is readlity available. My suspicion was deepened by the FAFSA application that I saw for th efirst time just ten minutes ago that clearly warns about organizations that charge a fee for admissions information and promises to help find money for education.

I went to the seminar because a family member told me that it was a real nightmare when whe was trying to get her daughter into a college. She paid a coach $5000 to get orgainzed. THe CAA was about half that much. I will continue to post as I compare the information I get from CAC to what I find here online.
