As for extracurriculars:

  • I’m in my school’s DECA club
  • I’m vice president of JSA (junior states of america)
  • I’m the president of FBLA (future business leaders of america)
  • I’m a chief technician for my school’s newscast
  • I did a 7-week computer science internship in the summer in NYC
  • I am currently doing a computer science internship afterschool
  • I have been in my school’s JROTC program for all 4 years of high school, and have been on the Operations and Training unit in the program.

I want to pursue a major in computer science and mathematics, and I desparately want to go to NYU’s college of arts and science.
I’m not sure if I can get into NYU with my resume; i’m not sure how competitive admissions are.

Does anyone know what schools I should be applying to with my stats?

You are academically qualified for nearly every school in the country. You would have a relatively predictable good chance of acceptance at any school which admits 25-30% or more of applicants and at which you have demonstrated interest. Schools with lower acceptance rates would produce different chances. Good luck.

(Btw, wouldn’t your two grades in the 80s have resulted in a sub 4.0 UW GPA?)

@merc81 my gpa unweighted is a 95.8, which according to collegeboard is still a 4.0
but yeah, i’m aiming for schools that offer a degree in mathematics and computer engineering as one degree

Your scores are very strong and I agree with aiming high, but I’d double check your GPA. Here’s my son’s current GPA : Cumulative GPA: 3.87 Cumulative Percent GPA: 96.24 . So, a 95.8 would be a little lower than that.
You may be reading the conversion incorrectly. You’d have to take every individual grade and then convert it to a 4.0 scale. In other words, an 85 would be a 3.0, that has to get averaged in.
At least, that’s the way it works in my son’s case who’s missing out on a full ride to one of his schools because of a B in 8th grade in a high school class.

Be sure you are running net price calculators on each college website if you need financial aid. You likely will not get the best aid at NYU.
