They are already sending out finalist notices?

@SueHeck: I know the feeling…I’ve been rejected from three internships in the last two weeks…it really sucks, eh?

WHAT! They already sent out finalist notificaitons? I didn’t get any!!! :(

Yes, we’ve got to submit a personal statement by Monday morning. I think it’s just for the counseling, though, so don’t give up hope!

Congrats, aarelle!

I am not surprised I wasn’t notified, I figured I wouldn’t get anything anyway. XD

No, I didn’t hear anything either. Sigh.

But hey, I’ve got an exciting week of vacation planned…studying for my AP exams. I am really going to need AP Physics and AP Calc when I head to Community College. LOL. (And anyway, who needs an internship when McDonalds is hiring?)

It’s so exciting being me.

^lol, you’re such a pessimist. There’s still hope… kinda

Grats Aarelle!
Does anyone get to be finalists for any summer programs? Yet?

@sueheck: Stop being so down on yourself! Just because you got rejected from a few things doesn’t mean you’re not going to amount to anything! I know it’s rough but everything happens for a reason!

I’m really bummed I didn’t get picked for te counseling…congrats to those who did! How do you think they decide who gets which award? I mean what makes one person a finalist for counseling versus a finalist for campus visits or a summer program?

SueHeck,

I like your sense of humor.
Yes, my son has experienced a lot of highs but also some rejections as well as not qualifying for certain competitions and such. Hang in there, ok? You have a lot going for you, taking AP Physics and AP Calc. Don’t give up yet! And how kind of someone to pray for all of you. You all are an amazing bunch of students! Don’t forget that!

:OOO They already sent out finalist stuff? Oh hell no…

No, I don’t think so. The poster just mentioned the college counseling but not anything else.

If my calculations (aka multiplication on my computer’s calculator) are correct, percentage-wise it is easier to get into Harvard than to win college counseling. Which means that:

Aarelle, you are a BAMF

The rest of us shouldn’t be too hard on ourselves

 4 more days 'till we ALL find out!!!

Wow! I didn’t realize it was so soon until you said that! Only 4 days!!!

Three days now. :)

i can’t stop thinking about it, even in my dreams
i will check my e-mail on Sunday after church :o

I am going to try to NOT check my email on Friday, I need to focus on my AP’s, SAT’s etc. which are right around the corner. I have reached my rejection tolerance threshold. Ha! Then again, Friday was a pretty bad day for Jesus as well…
But good luck to everyone.

@SueHeck: I am going through exactly what you’re going through. Over the past three weeks, I have gotten rejections from 7 programs. =( I only have QB and 2 UCLA Internships left…I thought I would at least get into some internships…I guess my essays were too typical lol…

I didn’t reply to one of those mass texts that threatens “You will have bad luck this week if you don’t send this to 800 people!!!”
If I get rejected from QB, I guess I’ll have no choice but to start participating in those…

Two more days?! Wow, I can’t imagine how it’ll feel to wait for college decisions…
