Yessss! and Noooo! I was nominated for the tour thing and got invited to the Yale conference (which is what I wanted!) but I can’t go!! :(
(I’m going to be out of the country because I got a scholarship to learn Arabic in morocco)

I got the same thing :D.

But now that I’m nominated, what are the actual chances of getting to visit someplace? -_-

LOL, I’m not spending $$ for just 1 weekend at Yale though.

I got…something? The conference at Yale, but I have a regents exam that day. And nomination for maybe getting a college visit. Then it says something about college match, but I am unsure if I am a “finalist” or not?

It looks like we all got the same thing, perhaps someone should cut and paste to see if we all got the same thing???

Nomination + invitation for me.

We should make a list of who’ll be at the yale and stanford conferences.

Yale for me, yo

But dang…it sure beats the heck out of…“We regret to inform you…”, or “We got so many wonderful applications this year but…”

Did anyone not get nomination for campus visits?..

So like everyone else who replied, I got the invitation to the Stanford College Admissions Conference and Nomination for a college visit.

I predict that only 5-10% of those nominated for an all-expense college visit will get an all-expense paid college visit. It looks like this college visit business to the College Prep program is the equivalent of the Match program of QB. About 2000 become finalists for the Match / nominated for the visit but only ~200 actually get matched / actually get a college visit.

One more question, do I have to be at the conference the whole Saturday? I will be at Stanford that weekend for a music festival. I will be performing on that Saturday morning, actually, so will I still be able to take QB’s offer?

noloserhere: where do you live? I am in upstate NY. Yale for me, if I can find a way to get there and get out of my regents exam.

Yale conference and campus visit!!!

@notatruetarheel
^I think just about everyone who was invited to a conference got the campus visit nomination

SEE! YOU GOT SOMETHING, SUEHECK!!! and you were all worried
GOOD FOR YOU =)

Yeah, I was hoping for a Quest for Excellence Award, but those are pretty selective.

@SueHeck: the conference at Yale is on a Saturday! How could you possibly have a regents exam that day?
Also, it’s not really a “maybe.” Partner colleges themselves will email us over the summer for the expense paid campus visits.

And the College Match is something entirely different, and that starts for 2012 students in August. We can either get guaranteed full rides if we apply and are accepted to at least one partner college, and we get a leg up with more essays if we’re a finalist.

Congrats, you guys!

Yahoo! I got the counseling!!
I also got the Yale conference/nom for campus visit thing that everybody else seems to have. Oh, I’m really pleased now! :3

I was invited to the College Admissions Conference in Yale!!!

Plus, I was nominated for an all-expense-paid campus visit!!! I hope I get it!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Yay! I got a nomination and a invite to Yale also.

Who is all going to the Yale conference? I didn’t just stress over all of that to not make the best out of my awards!

@ aarelle - Very nice! Congratulations!

Neuro, if you live more than 200 miles from the conference, you can apply for travel grant money.

Well I’m glad I didn’t get too much from QB today because my dad got a job at Siemens this month. So money isn’t an issue.

Which means I probably won’t do College Match now.

“Also, it’s not really a “maybe.” Partner colleges themselves will email us over the summer for the expense paid campus visits.”

What does that mean?

I am going to try to do Yale, if I can find a train there-hey, we all got the same thing-cool! I feel like I know so many of you already! I hope I get a college visit as well, I am not IVY league material (SAT’s were a bit low), but I’m hoping for Wellesley or Williams perhaps. I am in Rochester, NY so very far away from New Haven I’m afraid…but I sure would like to see Yale. Is this an overnight, does anyone know?
