College Prep 2011!

Yeah, a lot of people on CC got the same award, but it’s because CC attracts some of the brightest and most passionate students. I bet the Harvard acceptance rate of CC members is higher than 6%

Anyway, be proud of your award, hope for some college visits and apply to QB National Match!

queensny out of curiousity what H.S. do you attend? (I go to school in NY)

if i am going to be sponsored by a business, how/where should i have the money be made out to?

To you, because the sponsor would cover the costs of your hotel/travel. You’re responsible for making the arrangements. QB has nothing to do with the money unless you get a grant from them. Apart from that, they only sponsor the events during the conference.

thanks for the help. :D

I am leaving from seattle on Friday evening, and staying at hotel for one night.

To those who are going to the Stanford conference,
which hotel are you guys staying?? Do they accept 18 or under?
Thanks :)

@Azyrk13 and @SueHeck

I’d be willing to split a room if you guys want. I’m planning to fly to NYC and take a train to New Haven…

Imagine if the train from NYC to New Haven is basically just QB kids?

Haha, I hope everyone is friendly, I’d love to meet new people and make friends.

Yeah, I am sure you will. I’m looking forward to that too. :)

Hey! I sent QuestBridge an email last week, and they wrote back with “Consideration for the Quest for Excellence Awards is in progress. Award recipients will be notified no later than July 1.”

July 1st?!?!? faints

Thanks Queensny for finding out.

So when they say “spring” they mean summer, huh?

They really are liberal in their definition of spring! Now, I have renewed hope…not much, but still, ha ha. I would never be able to get my own laptop computer, pay for my expenses, and still save an adequate amount of money for the future. Here’s hoping!!!

If any of you get Quest for Excellence Awards, can you post it, so the rest of us aren’t flying high on false hope, please? We would also congratulate you, of course, lol.

“We would also congratulate you, of course, lol.”

Made me LOL

@ymlee822: We are taking a small family Memorial Day vacation to take dd to Stanford from Reno. We found that Comfort Inn Palo Alto went down to $90 per night if you asked for a lower price. If you know somebody with a AAA or VFW card you could get a lower price on lodging, too. It is more expensive in the Bay Area than Sacramento - Sacramento is only around $65 per night. I don’t know about the under 18 thing. There are places to stay on the campus, but they are more expensive . .

July 1st is not the Spring of 11. ***. I hope we find out earlier.

July 1st is AGES away! I wonder if that means they’re going to notify people on a rolling basis…like starting with one award then on to the next and keep giving awards as they go or if they’re going to do them all at once…

I think they’re notifying people on a rolling basis because some awards have already been given out. If you look at previous posts, some people said they got awards already.

Sooo, are some of you going to the conference alone?? But isn’t it dangerous?? hehh

For those of you going to the stanford conference, how are you getting there?
