naw only awards given out were the fein awards

I got into tasp y’all!!!
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Hi orangefoot,
I’m going to Stanford alone. I will fly from Houston to San Jose and then take a bus or something to Stanford.
I think its not dangerous at all, don’t worry

Congrats belly! I applied for TASP but didn’t make it to the second round…what a wonderful opportunity!

Hey guys and gals,

Too bad I found out about College Confidential at the end of my Spring Break, I’ve been looking for a place to connect with other QuestBridge applicants all week.

I got invited to the Yale Conference and got nominated for the all-expense-paid campus visit.

I already RSVP to go to the Yale Conference. (Twice in fact, I didn’t know if I did it because I didn’t get confirmation so I did it again, just to be safe.) I hope to meet some of you there.

If we get contacted by a college in late summer, does that mean the campus visit will only be a day or a couple of days. Does anybody know how long the campus visits generally are?

@queenannelace Wow, Houstan, Texas? That’s really far ![]()
Is anyone else going to the stanford conference?

@orangefroot

I’m going to the Stanford Conference! My mom and I will be driving about 6 hours. How are you getting there?

xnap- It is only one day, i will be going as well, from florida!
You?
add me on facebook! I want to know at least one person there =) Melissa Quintana

savearth, are you talking about Yale? I think xnap was asking how many days the nominated visits are, not the Yale Conference.

Are we supposed to receive notification when we RSVP? Because I have not.

Who all is going to the Yale conference? I just booked my flight and hotel.

If we RSVP, do we have to show up?

What if I RSVP just to see if I can get the travel grant, and cancel if I don’t get one?

Yea, I was asking how many days the nominated visits are.

x3savearth314, I’ll try to see you there at the Yale conference. It’ll be hard though, almost a thousand kids and a couple hundred more parents. There’s also two alternating sections.
I’m either going to take the train from NY or have my parent drive me up. It’s only 90 miles for me.

I thought 1000 kids were chosen for conferences in total. So they chose 1000 for Yale and 1000 for Stanford?

sumoninjapirate - You should ask questions@questbridge.org/email. They’ll give a better answer than we will.

@filedekz The problem is I don’t know.

Noone at home’s able to drive me (and I don’t have a driver’s license yet ><) I emailed questbridge whether they can tell me who in my school’s invited to the conference, so I can travel with them. But, I didn’t get any replies yet. Actually, I’m new to California so I’m kinda afraid I might get kidnapped or murdered if I go alone. I’m hoping I could meet up with some people here…but this is the internet (even if it is CC :P).

Orange, I had the same thought, but how to find out? There must be others from my area going, probably from my own school. My only idea was to post something on “rideshare” on Craigslist. Let me know if QB discloses that information!

Honestly, it’s easy for me to say this because my dad conveniently has the night off before and of the conference, so he can drive me and stay with me, but I would NOT meet up with and travel with anonymous people over the internet, especially not over Craigslist. We all seem like nice people, but we are strangers, and most importantly, minors. I hate to sound like a mother nagging you all, so that’s all I’m going to say, but be careful when making your travel arrangements.

I just RSVPed that I’m not going :(. That’s one off the waiting list :)

@grammargirl: Problem solved, there is now a facebook page for the Yale conference. Hopefully someone from my area will post.

@Azark: I just posted a “hello” to you on the Yale page.

@sue
Unfortunately, just as I’ve expected, Questbridge replied “we are not able to provide information about other applicants.”

So, are you going to ask around on facebook?
Hmm maybe it’ll be safer. But, it’s still open for the public to view…

Btw, does anyone know if I can rsvp that I am attending, but cancel later on if I don’t find anyone to travel with? (can you even cancel?) I’ll feel bad if someone on the waitlist don’t get to go just because I didn’t find someone sooner and end up not attending.

guys i submitted my RVSP twice because i was nervous it didn’t go through the 1st time. They said don’t submit it again. I feel ■■■■■■■■, haha. was that bad?
