College Prep 2011!

OH JEEZ. I am so nervous…

the word limits are my demons.

OMG. My teacher said she got this. Now it’s 9 PM. Only 2 hours left :(

oh yeah good luck you guys!

good luck everyone!!

My teacher says she submitted it, but on my locker it says “in progress” is there anything she is not doing right? she is pretty sure that she clicked submit?

Wait wait wait, it’s nearly 10?? But my clock says its only 8:31. :S I’m so confused. The deadline is still 11:59pm right?

I’m DONEEE!
That’ll be the last time I ever procrastinate on an application

never mind my last post;) she figured it out.
Now i am officially DONE:D gosh i will never procrastinate again:cool:
Good luck to those who need it:) and don’t give up!:p

Hahahaha congratulations! your post remind me that THERE IS STILL LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL or sth like that lol :)

But, seeing as I still have my personal statement to finish…IS THE APPLICATION DUE IN NEARLY AN HOUR?

Same. does anyone have a similar problem?
And no it’s due at 11:59 pst

Phew. Okay, so to be absolutely sure it’s due in approx. 3 hrs? (Sorry I’m not used to the different time zones in one country  I’m from Hong Kong)

And, did you try asking Questbridge? Go to the technical problems section in FAQs and click “I have another question” or sth like that I cnt remember. :stuck_out_tongue: Best of luck

Yessir (or ma’am), it is due in approx. 3 hours

How many quest for excellence awards did you guys apply for?
I applied for like 5 but 3 of them were really crappy

Which ones did you guys go for?

Science and Tech, Southern, and African American

i was rushing and then i realized its in pacific time! that makes me want to do another optional essay, but i think the ones i applied for ( african-american and woman leader) was pretty good.

did anyone else do optional essays?
also just curious what colleges are you interested in that they partner with?

edit: changed my mind. im going to do the first gen essay.

I applied for arts, first gen, woman’s leadership, new york, and law.

I don’t think theyre very cohesive essays though… The first gen essay, in particular, makes very little sense.

If I could’ve only picked one to apply for, I would’ve picked law.

If I had more time I would have also applied to Business and Entrepreneurship since I’m pres of DECA/FBLA at my school. But oh well.

****QUESTION: Is it just me or is it impossible to make paragraphs on the application? All of my submissions were big blobs because I couldn’t seperate anything with tabs or spaces.

Is it just my crappy computer’s vault? Because then I’ll be really sad. The adcoms will think that I don’t know how to write an essay or make paragraphs

:( :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :(

@noleserhere I just hit the enter key on my essays.

I feel bad that I had to put 0 siblings when i have 8 ( total half-sibs). But none of them have ever lived with me- and it doesn’t give that as an option. So if i had put them my application would have been incomplete…and i dont know all their birth years…

@noleserhere I put 5 spaces before each paragraph like in the old computer systems. Also, if you put five spaces in the box then copy and paste the essay from word, it should make paragraphs (its kinda wierd)

Congratulations on finishing your applications!
Try to remember your promises not to procrastinate if you go on to apply to the National College Match!! You can look at last year’s thread to see the problems waiting till the last minute caused.

The Questbridge system crashed, people panicked, lots of chaos. My son avoided it all by submitting his application on the weekend before it was due. (It was due Sept. 30th, which was a Monday, I think.). Questbridge did extend the deadline because of their system problems, but try not to put yourselves through all the craziness that waiting too long to finish brings.

Good luck to you all!

Hey! I actually finished slightly early for once. One last minute question nonetheless: can you be chosen for several summer programs? Or do they pick one among the ones you’ve selected?
