College programs for a boring introvert?

What are some good summer programs for someone who doesn't really want to do anything besides study? I'm pretty much looking for an intense learning experience without the frills. I don't want a programs where there is some sort of mandatory talent show, dances, or anything like that. I would prefer that the program is an engineering one.

I'm a rising senior if that helps. I will provide more info if you guys need it.

How about Ross?

Whoops, I forgot to mention that i’m looking for an engineering course. Sorry!

If you’re a girl, there’s the Smith Summer Science and Engineering Program (SSEP), “a four-week residential program for exceptional young women with strong interests in science, engineering and medicine”. The website is here: [Smith College: Summer at Smith](Summer Science & Engineering Program | Smith College)

There’s also the UPenn SAAST regardless of gender: “The Summer Academy in Applied Science & Technology (SAAST) welcomes highly motivated and talented students to explore Engineering at the college level, combining sophisticated theory with hands-on practical experience in cutting-edge technologies”, and the website is here: [About the Program | Summer Academy in Applied Science and Technology (SAAST) | Penn Engineering](<a href=“Summer Engineering Academy –”>Summer Engineering Academy –)

I mention these because the deadline still isn’t past; SSEP apps are open until May 1 and SAAST until May 15.

Operation Catapult @ Rose-Hulman might fit the bill. They have some “frill” activities available, but you don’t have to participate in most if you don’t want to.

I think a lot of the more rigorous research programs don’t have any of the frills. Most are very competitive, though, so it depends on your stats.

Jeroen: No offense intended, but your suggestions make absolutely no sense considering what the OP is looking for. Harvard SSP is exactly what the OP is trying to avoid.

Taken from the OP:

Take from the Harvard SSP website:

Also, they don’t offer an engineering courses. The only stem courses offered are Computer Science, Multivariable Calc, and General Chemistry.

I’m sorry, I probably replied a little bit to fast. I overlooked some things.
I saw the activities list, but you don’t have to do those. You can also just study or do other things.
There is indeed only one engineering course [Tissue Engineering for Clinical Applications | Harvard Summer School](DCE Course Search)
