College Prospects?

Hi, I'm an Asian male in my junior year from New York and I'm wondering what colleges I have a decent shot of getting into/what I should be aiming for. As if now I haven't been too involved in the college process but I am planning that for the summer. I don't really have any particular schools in mind, so I made this post to get a general idea of some colleges I should be targeting. If it helps, the majors I am interested in are Biomedical engineering, Economics, Finance, and Physics.

Here are my stats:

SAT Scores: 2400 (first take)
PSAT: 221
SAT 2: 800 Biology M, 780 Chemistry, 790 Math 2,

Schedule:
9th grade: Global, Science Scholars, Chemistry, Math honors, Spanish, English
10th grade: AP Euro, Science Scholars Honors, AP Bio, Math honors, Spanish honors, English
honors
11th grade: APUSH, Science Scholars Honors, AP Chem, Math honors, Spanish honors,
English honors
12 grade (projected): AP Gov, AP Macro, Science Scholars Honors, AP Physics, AP English,
AP Calc AB, Spanish honors

I am taking the most rigorous schedule my school has to offer.

GPA/Grades: My school doesn't give unweighted GPA, but my weighted GPA is about 5.8/6.0 (yes I know that it's weird that our school has a 6.0 scale).

Extra-Curriculars:
- Eagle Scout (multiple leadership positions in Boy Scouts)
- Science Research at Columbia University for two summers, contributor in a science paper
- Academic Quiz Bowl (3 years, Will be President in Senior year)
- Model UN (4 years, Head delegate in Senior Year)
- Piano for 11 years (perform multiple times a year in local venues)
- Science Bowl (2 years, Co-President)
- Jazz Band (4 years)

Work:
- Math tutor (1 hour sessions, 2 days a week for half a year)
- Bio tutor (1 hour sessions, 1 day a week for half a year)

Volunteering:
- 150 hours (and counting): Patient Care assistant in local hospital

Awards:
- Some medals at local science competitions
- A couple of delegate awards from MUN conferences
- School academic achievement awards

If you can afford this as a safety: U Toronto (even Rotman)

UIUC, Berkeley (even Haas), Tulane Freeman if you really want finance; this file normally nets one ~$20-27k in merit aid at Tulane…

Anybody else? I would really appreciate some comments with a preliminary list of colleges to look at, as I really don’t have a direction right now

You definitely have a shot at Ivies but a lot depends on your financial situation.

you might want to give more specifics. a lot of colleges fall within you range. do you have any other preferences (e.g. class size, school size, traditional campus, political/religious atmosphere, location, etc.)?
with the info. you’ve given, NYU comes to mind. check if you can afford it though

Budget please…

There are no money/affordability concerns

the college world is your oyster. I dont see a school you would have a problem of getting into. For finance, i would suggest U Penn, Harvard, Emory, Carnegie Mellon. Congrats!

You have to do a little thinking about some general preferences. What part of the country do you want to go to school…Lots of great options in NY and surrounding states but do you want to venture out further? What size school would you prefer? Do you enjoy the “rah rah” of a school with prominent sports and spirited traditions?

I would recommend JHU and WashU for BME. 2400 First try!!! You have a good shot at Harvard, Princeton, Yale and maybe MIT! You can also goto UChicago if your interested in economics. I would say back up would be like duke or WashU everything else you have a low reach to a medium reach. Good Luck!
