<p>Nope, as far as I know. It never even occurred to me that that would be a limitation. For the most part, college radio is just like any other extra-curricular: if you’re interested, get involved. Yes, at first, you will likely start out with a middle of the night time slot if you get a show, but you work your way up from there like everyone else. :)</p>

<p>Absolutely not. S1 just graduated with a double major in sports journalism and history. Most of the kids doing play-by-play, news and talk shows were journalism majors, but anyone could do a regular air shift with their choice of music. And yes, some of them were in the middle of the night, because S1 was training director for a couple of semesters and helped train them. This may be different at a school without a journalism or communications department. </p>
