yeah my school does just fine in the rankings (Duke) and I think rankings are DUMB. Once you get to a certain level, to try to dillineate one school from another is just nitpicky and useless. So many aspects of a college education are not directly comparable (and the ones that are usually aren't as important as people seem to think).

hahahah this is the funniest thing...this just shows you how immature curtisny is.

In the College Admissions forum - posted by curtisny:

"My father received a call earlier today from a school rep in my area who wanted to speak with me. I wasn't home so my father told him to call back at 8."

yo curtisny you know that you don't have to be a parent to post in parent's forum. It's ok to post as a kid...hahaahahahahaahahahahahah

You're a real winner, bern. Penn is lucky to have you. I mean, in one thread I see you boasting about how much you can "bench press" and in the next you are talking about how miserable you are at Wharton because it's been "hard to make friends." But hey, I'm sure posting on a forum designed for students to use LEADING UP TO college is going to help you in that area. To reiterate, you're a winner.

UC Berkeley, perhaps not number 1 in the nation, but close enough for me. Curtisny, we're not here to try to pick a fight, or try to put you down; if we were, an anonymous online forum wouldn't be the place for it. We're just trying to help by telling y'all that arguing over rankings is a waste of time. Even if I were rejected from all the Ivy Leagues, what would I have to gain from posting on CC.com, and telling you that rankings are useless?

A word of warning: if you're going to be closed-minded as such when you finally do get to college, you will be unhappy, I promise you that.

when did i ever post that i was miserable at wharton???? I really can't remember a time when I was miserable - ask anyone that knows me on this forum how happy I am at penn. I actually have a lot of friends at penn, seeing as how im international I only hang out with the other intls so i don't understand when I said that...fill me in thanks.

plus i enjoy working out and the thread was about working out and someone asked how much everyone could bench press - i really can't bench very much so I don't know how that's boasting.

pookdog...I apologize. Really didn't mean to start all this mudslinging.

And Bern, I really don't have anything against you either. Besides the fact that youcame on CC drunk one night to, in your words, "be an ass and make fun of some kids." Again, I'm sure Wharton is thrilled.

Rankings are not a be all and end all. There are many factors to consider in selecting and evaluationg a college. Nonetheless, as a tool, it is nice to know where a school sits relative to its peers.
