Ok so basically I applied EA to Rhodes College and I submitted my completed college app on Nov 15th (the day it was due) Fast forward 3 months it is January 15th the day they said they would be letting people know their decision. However I didn’t hear any news. Anxious I logged onto my portal and it said they received my common app the 16th! (one day after it was due) Does this mean my app didnt go through EA even though I submitted the common app on time?? They did say that would send it on Jan 15th so maybe that means they will mail their decision? What do you guys think???
According to their twitter, they mailed them today. Good luck!

Call admissions. Had you checked your account sooner, the question of whether you are being considered for EA or if your app was moved to RD due to the one day late status might have arisen then. Had you then called and asked you would not be wondering now. Nothing you can do about the past but you can call and find out if you were assessed in the EA round, or if you should be waiting for the RD dates. Or, you can wait till next week, and if you get no letter from Rhodes, you can call and ask. I personally would not want to be sitting in limbo about whether I would be getting a decision in the next few days. If the app were rolled over to RD, it can be out of your mind for this time period, whereas if it is being considered for EA, you can be on your toes for news that will be soon forthcoming.
What happened?
Are you sure that’s the date it was received? Many schools take several days to download the applications and often that is the date you will see on the portal. If you submitted by the deadline then you should be fine.
If it was post marked before the deadline, generally it is accepted as on time. You should check the specificities on the website.
Even if it was after the deadline, you are probably okay. They want you to apply. Colleges are evaluated based in part on how many students apply relative to the spaces available so they are not in the business of rejecting completed applicants that arrive a day late. Call and confirm.
Contact the school and see what happened.
