Do college admissions prefer a recommendation from an AP teacher as opposed to a regular college-prep teacher? I think I oculd get a stellar rec.. from the regular class teacher, but since its neither an honors/AP class, I'm scared as to how that will look. Any tips?

I don’t think it matters as long as they write a good Rec. I’m asking my Hons World History teacher because he is really really nice and told me he would write a good Rec. I choose him over my other AP Teachers because I know they probably wouldn’t write a good one like him. Plus he was an officer in the Air Force for Counter Intelligence and was in war so I think that would be cool haha.

They want a recommendation from someone who knows you well and will present you in the best possible light. If your non-AP teacher is the one most likely to do that, then chose that teacher.

And do the teacher a favor by providing information to them like:

1) What do I want to study and what are my career goals?

2) What are my strengths? And what weaknesses have I overcome over the past three years?

3) What unique circumstances have shaped me that colleges should know about?

Provide this information in writing (get someone who knows you well to read it before you hand it over) and give them the summer to work on the recommendation. You want to make this job as easy as possible.
