College Recruitment during Gap Year

Here's the situation.
I was attending a great school. I was a senior. But, I withdrew due to personal reasons and a mistake on my part, right before college admissions process started.
Background:
Said school is quite prestigious. I have ok stats, 2340 SAT, 35 ACT, 800 Math 2 and Physics SAT II, AP Scholar w/ Distinction, National Merit Commended, etc. GPA is pretty good. Not great, just okay. I had two pretty amazing internships this past summer and have some cool extracurriculars, including a varsity sport. I think I wrote decent essays for my colleges.
Anyway, despite my stats/education, it's obvious my withdrawal and mistake will cost me big time in college application process.
I've accepted this at this point. (Applied to a bunch of schools and am crossing my fingers for March, but am realistic as well :/).
So, here are my options.
1) Go to state school next year and attempt to transfer.
2) Take gap year and try to get recruited for squash to dream school. (I am an athlete but not good enough to be recruited atm. But, I am almost at that level.)

My question is if the second option is possible? During this gap year, I would try to find employment or take online courses through CTY. Specifically, I am wondering about recruitment to the Ivys.

PGing is out of question because i don't have the dinero.

It might help if you posted in the athletic recruit forum. It is not clear if you will be a HS graduate or not.
