College requirements

I was wondering if you HAVE to meet all the requirements a college lists in order to be accepted. Also, what if your SAT scores don't meet the college's requirement but your GPA does. Do they give any kind of point, eh.. cushion? (can't think of the correct word right now). If so how many points lower do they usually allow. I know acceptance is based on a bunch of other factors too but I was just curious about the normal requirements.

Well you have to meet the requirements... I mean if you have a 2.8 and they only accept 3.0+ then you have to meet them. If you mean requirements as in AVERAGES as in UCLA accepts 3.8UW and you have a 3.5 then no.

If your gpa is a 3.8UW and your SAT's are 1900 and you are aiming for let's say UCLA, although your SAT's are a little bit lower they are easier to work on and easier to raise. The answer to your question lies in the average for the college. Look up the average and your SAT score should be 100-150 points below to be even considered and if not you have work to do.
