So I have ready sent my transcript to all the colleges I am applying to, and my weighted gpa was a 3.44, but my current courses aren’t going so well. I will get 2 cs in AP courses, and an A in a normal course. Could those two cs (B’s if you weigh them cause those are AP’s) cause a school to retract my Read more
The first question is if they even see them. Some schools will make their decision on what they have on your app and not even look at your grades mid year.
If they are doing a mid year report they will see the grades. This will happen before you are admitted, so it they wouldnt “rescind your admission”. They would see a slight decline in your average GPA. They will look at that in the context of your whole application and make their decision.
Colleges typically dont rescind an admission once they make the offer unless you have something catastrophic happen. Lying on your app or failing to graduate would be examples.
As a high school teacher for over twenty years, I have seen VERY few rescinded admissions. The situations included the following: failure to graduate on time, MAJOR disciplinary event (happened twice), applied ED to two schools, FAILED courses in senior year that were passing grades at time of admission (the 3 times this happened students had failed two major courses but still eligible to graduate bc of enough credits). A school has an obligation to send second semester grades if failure involved. They do not otherwise send an updated transcript unless requested by school. Last yr. our school had to send second semester updates for about 28% of seniors.
