College resume with results

To all of you who (are currently/have finished) college: can you please post your college application resume and the colleges you applied to and the results. Also post the year in which you applied and which school you decided to attend. The reason for this is because I would like to get a glimpse of what it to come and perhaps some hope as well. Thank you.

I'm a first year freshman in college (class of 2011)

Accepted: Princeton (attending), Yale (Early Action- im shocked too!), UMich, Lehigh, Penn State
Waitlisted: MIT
Rejected: Amherst, Williams, UPenn
*truly shows how random admissions are!

I took 5 AP's, got four 4's and a 3

undecided major

essays: pretty good. wrote about my trip to mexico last summer and how I felt bad for the people living in poverty. that inspired me to do community service.

EC's:
Captain of basketball team- varsity for 4 years, league champions
County winner of a speech contest
Debate club member senior year
School newspaper 3 years

Volunteer work:
100 hours of volunteering at local food bank . I actually located homeless people in the city on the weekends and drove them to the food pantry and spent the afternoon with them. Very interesting stuff. Sometimes I would even take them to the movies and stuff.

Interview: average I would say. interviewed for almost every college. we talked about politics (I am conservative).

Reflection (REALLY important!)
I notice that way more qualified people get in, and I kinda feel embarassed that I got in with my 1930 SAT :( .
Ok this is just a joke about admissions really. I am sure you are under a lot of stress and I'm trying to relax you. None of that stuff is true, and I am only a current senior in high school. But, the lesson to be learned is no perfect stats are needed and admissions are truly random.

Hopefully you laughed a little after reading my volunteer work.

**That thing about picking up homeless people on the streets isn't a good idea and probably not safe. don't try it!

sjm--There are detailed threads every year on the Yale forum after admission results come out where people give very specific info on grades, standardized test scores, extracurriculars, socioeconomic background, etc. I think it's exactly what you're looking for.

where did you decide to go chicagoboy?
