College Resume

Hello everyone, I have a few questions about things to put on my college resume.

Do I need to put a short explanation explaining my extracurriculars or do colleges for the most part already know what they are?

For my volunteering section should I put the exact number of hours I volunteered or just my volunteer group and place?

Under skills should I put public speaking along with my languages (I did numerous years of debate)?

Should I put my academic information on it such as gpa, rank, sat 1/2 scores, or ap scores?

Should I put things down I only started doing senior year or something I only did for two years?

Thank you, for answering these questions keep in mind I'm applying to ivy league schools and trying to make sure this is perfect.

Why not just use the Common App?

Because common app doesn’t have enough room for everything I would like to put down.

Point 1: If your HS calls it something special or does something differently you may want to explain.

Point 4: If this is in addition to your normal application I would say no as those are on your transcript/score reports.

If you are using common application, I got a bad news for you. You can not upload a resum

Aha! And there’s your problem. What you want to put down, and what the admissions officers want to know, are two different things . . . and, in that case, you should defer to what the admissions officers want to know. Stop worrying about what you want, and focus on what they want.

I’ll expand on dodgersmom’s post. HS students overestimate the level of detail that they think colleges want. Ultra detailed explanations, to the minute vol hour tallies, that 11th super-meaningful EC – colleges have seen it all and it doesn’t matter to them.

Ah understood thanks.
