Hi,I'm an international student and I got 1830(650-M,610-CR,570-W) on my SAT and I'll be giving SAT again in May. I think I'll be able to make my scores touch 2000-2100.Which colleges would you recommend for me ??
My school does not have a GPA system and I'm in the top 10-15% in my class (my school does not have a class rank system either,so that number is unofficial).I will be applying for aid.
Based on all this, which colleges would you recommend for me ???
Also should internationals seeking aid apply ED or only apply RD ??

Depending on how much aid you need, you can't count on a US school and need to have strong back ups at home. The few schools that are generous with aid to internationals are top colleges which would be out of reach with your current stats.

If you only need a small amount of aid there will be choice.

What country are you from and what percentage of the cost would you need to attend?

I'm from India and I'd need atleast $37000-$42000 per year as aid.

You have a very big uphill battle. The colleges that have that kind of money for internationals are the very top schools and your stats are not competitive for those at this point. Also, coming from India, the competitin is brutal because US schools get so many applications from India and all over Asia and each school will only take a few.

Post this on the international board where folks will know better if you have a chance of getting that much aid anywhere. For internationals needing that much, unfortunately, without a very top rank and scores, a US college may well not be possible. Keep studying for IIT!
