I have been placed in an unique situation. I was wait listed at WPI and given January admission. This happened after I paid my deposit to Clark. Now, what I am trying to figure out is which school will better prepare me for getting into to Stanford for a masters in EE. I really want to do some work in the CCRMA at Stanford. Clark does not have engineering per-say, they have the 3/2 program with Columbia, so I would probably major in math at Clark and then do computer engineering at Columbia. The reason the 3/2 program is so attractive to me is because I can major in math as well as ce, and because Columbia also has a computer music center, so I could do some research there which would probably help with getting into Stanford. WPI has a much more interesting math program than Clark, but I don't know how their engineering compares to Columbia. However, WPI doesn't really have anything in terms of computer music. So, should I just stick with Clark or go with WPI?

The people I know who have gotten into Stanford never thought about getting into stanford 4 years down the road let alone any other grad school this early. Go where you want and excel. Thats all you can do.

Well, the thing is I don’t think Clark’s math program is as strong as WPI’s. There also don’t seem to be many research opportunities at Clark in math. However, WPI does not really have anything in terms of computer music. Which is what I am mostly interested in. I have done a few projects in computer music and electrical engineering for independent study credits in school and really enjoyed it. I have friends that will be attending both schools next year and both schools are local for me.
