College search questions...

Hi guys, this is my first post here, and I have a few questions. I'm going into senior year this fall and I find myself under a lot of pressure to choose which colleges to apply to.

I attend a very rigorous private school in California. I have a 3.050 unweighted GPA and 3.39 weighted GPA with an ACT of 29 and an SAT I of 1850. I had a pretty bad freshman year with 3 C's and 3 B's and 1 A, but since then I have not scored lower than a B in any class, and have gotten A's in AP US History and AP Gov and 4's on the AP tests.

Given my grades, I have focused my college search at schools I think I have a decent chance at getting accepted at and that have my preferred majors 1)Finance, 2)Business Administration, 3)Accounting. My list includes in rough order of preference:
University of Richmond
Seattle University
UVA Charlottesville
UW
Gonzaga
U of O
UPS
UCI
Cal Poly SJO

My parents however do not want me applying to most of the choices on my list and are pushing me to apply to following schools that they seem convinced that I can get into, but which I have discounted out of hand:
University of Chicago
UCSD
UCLA

So I need some advice... Do I stand more of a chance then I thought of getting into those colleges my parents want me to apply to? Am I being overly optimistic with my college list?

Thanks for your help!

Thats a good list of schools.

You might have a better shot than you think because the UCs and UofChicago don't take freshman GPA into their cumulative GPA.
