What are some smart/sporty schools across the country with emphasis on the smart. Thinking in duke/stanford mold but definitely doesn’t have to be that selective.
This is for the very early stages of just trying to find the right schools to look at. 99 percentile on psats, 3.6 UW GPA 4.1-4.2 W GPA at a top public high school. Looking for somewhere fun but academically challenging
sounds like you want private schools with d1 athletics - in football. These are the ones that come to mind that would fit those criteria. Some are more selective than others. Many of these are considered great institutions of higher learning and have their own school spirit accompanying their athletics and campus culture. It should be noted that some of these schools are better than others in one or the other.
vanderbilt

Do you want a big school or a smaller school?
Anywhere in the medium to big range

University of Texas- Austin
Notre Dame
Thanks for the help!
Wake Forest–ACC sports, about 4500 undergrads, #27 USNWR National Universities, I think. New Wake Downtown bio/health sciences research center, if that appeals. Vibe is affluent and Greek life is absolutely central to campus culture, if those are pros or cons. School does places very strong emphasis on visiting and interviewing.
BC and University of Miami seem right up your alley too, maybe also SMU and Tulane.
