I'm looking for a relatively small (-15000 undergrads, give or take) college or university that is good with the physical sciences, but where I will also have the opportunity to study a broad range of topics. I would like it to have access to a city, (not necessarily be in one), I want it to be highly ranked (for grad school purposes), and a place where I have a good chance of admission with 2040 SAT. So far I have found Claremmont McKenna College, Brown University(long shot, but i have legacy), Case Western, and University of Rochester, does anybody know of any other good schools that can fit those criteria? I really need help, thank you in advance.

How does the 2040 break down? If math +CR is 1420 or over you might want to consider Tufts. Brandeis would be slightly easier score-wise, has great sciences and is close to Boston. What do you consider “access” to a city? Wesleyan isn’t too far from NY. There’s a difference between the schools with 15000 students and the schools with 2000, so you might want to think more about size. So many top schools have good science and a broad range of topics that you haven’t narrowed things too much. You could consider Hopkins although it’s going to be hard if you are under 1400.

the SAT was 730 cr, 680 math, and 630 writing. I looked at tufts, and their scores seemed a little out of my range, and Brandeis has almost 0 job recruiting, which was a major turn off, although I plan to go to grad school. The other problem is my GPA is only 3.667 unweighted, which will prob not get me into JH, event hough I had loooked at it and do like it. I want to study physics. As far as sccess to a city, a good example would be that Udel has an amtrak station on campus, and it can take students easily to New York or other places. I dont want to be in a big city, but I want to be able to be in a big city, if that makes any sense. As far as size goes, I want to avoid being taught by grad student like what would happen at U of Michigan, or UVA.

Holy Cross and Tufts.

HC has great job recruiting and internship program: [College of the Holy Cross](http://www.holycross.edu/sip/sites/internships/)
